Specialist practice Dental Office

Dr. Mersiha Avdić-Saračević gained experience at the prestigious Harvard University and while working on three continents

If you visit www.dentaloffice.ba and www.parodontolog.ba or book your appointment at the modern Dental Office in Sarajevo, you will get all the necessary information about periodontal disease. The information is a result of the knowledge and work experience of Dr. Mersiha Avdić-Saračević, which she gained first as a student at the prestigious Harvard University, and subsequently by working on three continents.

WORLD-RENOWNED EXPERT

A world-renowned expert in the fields of periodontology and implantology, she gained the title of Doctor of Dentistry at the prestigious Harvard University in Boston in 2005, and after studying dentistry, she continued her professional education, and gained the title of Specialist of Periodontology and Implantology, as well as the degree of Master of Medical Studies at Harvard University in 2008. A year after that, she graduated from the American Academy of Periodontology, which is the greatest and most prestigious title that a specialist can get in the U.S.

Mersiha also gained work experience in New York, and later on also in Kuwait, where she treated members of the Sabah royal family, as well as members of eminent Kuwaiti families. After that, she decided to return to her native Sarajevo, where she founded Dental Office – a specialist dental practice dedicated to treating periodontal disease.

Dr. Mersiha and her team of experts work based on the doctrine of Harvard University and AAP, which means that periodontal diseases can be treated, slowed down or completely stopped at Dental Office. The American protocol of treatment, unlike the one that is in practice in our region and wider, is proactive with the goal of treating inflammation and focusing on regeneration or tissue repair, i.e. bone tissue, as well as gum tissue.

As a periodontal specialist, Dr. Mersiha is primarily responsible for saving a patient’s teeth and regenerating lost periodontal tissue, and in cases when the preservation of dentitions is not possible due to the disease being too advanced, the goal is to bring back function and aesthetics for the patient with dental implants.

PAINLESS INTERVENTIONS

The first contact with a patient at Dental Office starts with an X-ray, and at this office X-ray devices are digital machines of the last generation with a very small amount of radiation for the patient. This is complete with a studious clinical check-up, when the team of experts defines the therapy plan for a smile that is not just beautiful, but also long-lasting.

Many patients at Dental Office are witness to interventions, such as: painless installation of top- quality dental implants, bone regeneration in situations when it is necessary, sinus lift, clinical crown lengthening, transplantation of tissue from the palate in cases of receding gums, mechanical endodontic treatment and successful treatment of complicated cases with narrow, obstructed and curved canals, aesthetic restauration and the most modern prosthetic procedures. All interventions are microsurgical with minimal or insignificant post-operative discomfort and they are all performed under local anesthetic and are completely painless.

The team of experts led by doctor Mersiha Avdić-Saračević will use their knowledge and specific approach to explain about periodontal disease to the patient, and find the best, most adequate therapy for their specific problem, all the while using the most modern technology and biological/dental material which follows world trends.

PERIODONTAL DISEASE

Inflamed, swollen, bleeding gums and bad breath are a definite sign of a periodontal infection, which can lead to serious complications of oral and overall health. Periodontal disease is the main cause of tooth loss and can be seen as a risk factor for chronic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases.
