Spring smoothies for stronger immune system
The first nice spring days can often be spoiled by colds and flus or by „spring fatigue“ symptoms, as our bodies take time to adjust to the season change.
Delicious vegetable and fruit drinks such as smoothies are an excellent source of refreshment in warmer days when the body needs something more than just ordinary drinks, and they will also strengthen the immune system and help fight viruses and bacteria.
The end result is the health in the cup!
Veggie – fruit smoothie
Ingredients: 2 beetroots, 2 carrots, 1 orange, 1 apple, 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil, water
Preparation: Peel and dice beetroots and apple, and slice the carrots. Squeeze the orange juice. Put all ingredients into the blender, pour in orange juice and flaxseed oil, and add water to the level of chopped fruit and vegetables. Mix well and serve immediately.
Pink smoothie with fruit and milk
Ingredients: ½ banana, ½ apple, handful of frozen berries, 1 kiwi, a little bit of low fat milk
Preparation: Peel banana, apple and kiwi and chop to smaller pieces. Put the fruit into the blender, add berries and milk, and mix until you get a creamy mixture. The amount of milk depends on the richness of the fruit, so to start add a few tablespoons, and later add more if necessary.
